About Amos Thompson
Amos, third son of Samuel and Rebecca (Bishop) Thompson, was born in New Haven, Connecticut, March 3, 1702. He settled near the pond yet known as Thompson's Pond in 1746. February 3, 1737, he bid off one right in the town of Goshen, Connecticut. In 1741 he was chosen town clerk and treasurer and re-elected each year until 1750. The first meeting house built in Goshen was on his land. He married, September 7, 1726, Sarah Allen. Children:
1. Allen, born June 2, 1727; 2. Rebecca, April 28, 1729; 3. Amos, August 7, 1731; 4. Ezra, see forward; 5. Mary, December 6, 1741.
Buried in Thompson Family Graveyard ( Sheafer Rd ) , Northeast Dutchess County NY
