Ann Alice Kimball

Ann Alice Gheen was born on December 20, 1827 in West Whiteland, Chester Co., Pennsylvania to William Atkins Gheen and Esther Ann Peirce, both of Pennsylvania.

Ann was among the original Mormon Pioneers of 1848 after being baptized on August 15, 1840. Her endowment was on December 18, 1845

Family Life

Ann married Heber Chase Kimball of Vermont, who later became an apostle of the Latter-day Staints, on September 10, 1844 in Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois. They were sealed on January 7, 1846 in Nauvoo.

Together, Heber and Ann had six children, all except the first in Salt Lake City:

• Samuel H. Kimball, b. 1845 (possibly died young?)
• Alice Ann Kimball, b. September 6, 1858 (twin)
• Andrew Kimball, b. September 6, 1858 (twin)
• Samuel Heber Kimball, b. December 9, 1851
• Daniel Heber Kimball, b. February 8, 1856
• Sarah Gheen Kimball, b. May 31, 1861

Ann died on October 12, 1879 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Co., Utah. She was buried there on October 18.
