Betty Jane Moffitt

Excerpt from Betty Moffitt's life story as written by her own hand:

As you know, I was born in Seattle on August 7, 1923 and I will quote from my mother's version regarding that historic night. The three Schroeder's - mom, dad and my older brother, Don were living out by Lake Washington while the hospital, long since torn down, was located in the downtown area. Dad spent the time riding back and forth on the street car from home to check on Don and back to check on Mom. According to my birth certificate, I was born at 1:58 a.m. so it didn't ruin his whole night.

Mother, bless her heart, always remembered me as a beautiful baby admired by one and all and you will note that baby pictures prove her to be correct.
