Valley Pioneer Called Beyond

The community received a shock when word came of the sad death of Mrs C.J. Bagley of Fairview last Friday evening. Mrs Bagley was taken ill some three weeks ago, but it was thought that she was on the improve until the announcement of her death. Mrs Bagley leaves besides her husband, eight children and a number of grandchildren. Five of her children are married. they are Mrs Thomas Quayle of Dingle, Mrs Emogene Roberts of Afton, Mrs Muriel Tolman of Fairview, Parley and Oliver also of Fairview. The unmarried children are Hugh, Louis and Ellsworth. All were present at the funeral services which were held in Fairview last Sunday. The speakers at the funeral were president Gardner, A.F. Burton and W.W. Cranney. A beautiful solo was rendered by Mrs Grace Frome during the services. A large array of cut flowers, the offering of her many friends adorned the casket. Interment was made in the Fairview cemetery. Mrs Bagley and her husband are some of the old pioneers of Star Valley. They lived in Montpelier a short time before coming to the valley. Their first residence in the valley was up on Crow Creek on part of what is now known as the Low ranch. About 22 years ago they moved into Fairview and have made their home there since that time. Mrs. Bagley has always been a faithful Latter Day Saint and for a number of years has been president of the Relief Society in Fairview. She was about 55 years of age at the time of her death. The entire community mourns her death and extends sympathy to the bereaved.
