About Catharina "Cajsa" Skog
She seems to have been the Cajsa Skog shown on the 1761-66 and 1767-71 communion rolls for Västervik under Mastroser och Sjomän as the wife and later widow of Magnus Holmström (pp. 68, 205). The 1770-1773-1776 household survey shows her in the West Quarter in household No. 42. On the 1772-1783 household rolls, she was listed in the West Quarter of Västervik in households 36 and 63. In 1774 she was at No. 63 and stated she was 44 years old, with her daughter Maja Stina, age 28. She and her daughter Maja Stina appear on the 1776-79 communion roll under Mastroser och Sjomän (p. 91, under Magnus Holmström). In 1780 she was at No. 35, without her daughter (who married that year). She appears on the 1781-82 communion roll with her daughter and son-in-law. I haven't yet found her in 1778 or 1783.
She was listed on the 1780-84 household roll of Västervik at No. 49 West Quarter in the household of Petter Edberg, and on the 1785-86 household roll at No. 36 in the household of Daniel Torevall. She stated she was born in 1733. There is no entry for her on the household roll in 1786. In 1786 the communion roll (p. 116) shows her at No. 36, with a note she died that year. The entry for her death says she was 52, which would place her birth in 1734. It also says she was widow of seaman (sjöm.) Magnus Holmström.
There was a Catharina Schoug, christened 10 May 1729 at Jacob och Johannes in Stockholm, daughter of Laurentz Schoug and Maria Herwik.
