Thank you for your work here. It is so good to ‘resurrect’ my maternal grandmother, Cecilia McKernan-McGivern- Sinnott.

She kindly took me in when I ran away from home at 21 years old. Nana Sinnott, as we called her, lived at 24 Cassville Road, Penny Lane, Liverpool.

She lived with her divorced 3rd daughter, Mary Kathleen McGivern Waller and her granddaughter, Anne Lavinia Waller. All of them dead now, unfortunately.

Incidentally, the proper name for a female is Frances with an ‘E’ but the 1911 census transcript gives it as though Cecilia Frances (wife of James Joseph Mc Givern) was a male - Francis, and the same for their second daughter (my Aunty Frances) with the male ‘Francis’!!!
