About Charles Arvel "James" Asay

Charles Arvel Asay was born Sunday, August 6, 1911 in Vernal, Utah to Charles and Ardra Anna "Ada" Corliss Asay.

He married Alene Monson on June 16, 1931; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death on February 28, 1954. He later married Ruby Green Olsen on February 14, 1969 in Salt Lake City.

He was a very compassionate man who loved his family and friends. He was a high priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding many positions throughout his life. He loved the outdoors and fishing.

James passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 23, 1994 at his home of a heart attack. He resided at 161 East Vidas Avenue (2575 South) in South Salt Lake, Utah at the time of his death.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 29, 1994 at 11:00 a.m. in the Southgate Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 2700 South Main Street in South Salt Lake. A viewing was held on Monday, November 28, 1994 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary located at 260 East South Temple Street in Salt Lake City, and one hour prior to the services at the church.
James was laid to rest following the conclusion of the funeral services at the Tooele City Cemetery in Tooele.
