Charles Houck

In 1880 Charles Houck, age 35 a lumber manufacturer, was living in Greene Twp., Pike Co., PA , with his wife, Hannah J. Houck age 35, and three children; daughter Annie F. Houck age 9, s on Charles O. Houck age 8, and daughter Maria Houck age 11 months. Also listed in their house hold was Emma Lamm, age 14 a domestic servant. (1880 census, National Archives Film T9-1165 , Page 342D)

In addition to the five known children listed, Charles and Hannah J. Houck had at least two c hildren, who died in infancy, and are buried next to their parents in Pine Grove Cemetery. Th e inscription on the back of the tombstone of Charles and Hannah simply says "Infant childre n of Charles and Hannah J. Houck" with no names or dates.
