About Clotworthy Rowley, 1st Baron Langford of Summerhill
Clotworthy Rowley, 1st Baron Langford of Summerhill was born on October 31, 1763. He was the son of Thomas Taylour, 1st Earl of Bective and Jane Rowley. He married Frances Rowley, daughter of Hon. Major Clotworthy Rowley and Elizabeth Crosbie, in January 1794. He died on September 13, 1825 at age 61. He was Member of Parliament (M.P.)for County Meath 1795–1800, Sheriff of County Meath 1796 and Trim 1791.
He was given the name of Clotworthy Taylour at birth. On April 26, 1796 his name was legally changed to Clotworthy Rowley On July 31, 1800, he was created 1st Baron Langford of Summerhill for changing his vote against the Union of Ireland and Great Britain's Parliaments to in favour.
