Cyril IX Moghabghab Patriarche d'Antioche, d'Alexandrie, de Jérusalem et de tout l'Orient.

Per General Nakhle Moghabghab the Patriarch's name when he was young was DAHER. When he was priest in Rome his name was "BOUTROS" Pierre or Peter. As Bishop in Zahlé, his name was CYRIL MOGHABGHAB "KYRILLOS". As Patriarch his title was CYRIL IX MOGHABGHAB(KYRILLOS) Patriarche DAntioche, d'Alexandrie, de Jérusalem et de tout LOrient.

Patriarch Cyril born in Ain Zhalta, Lebanon on October 29, 1855. He was ordained a priest on March 27, 1883. Later, on April 23, 1899, he was appointed bishop of Zahlé, Lebanon, and consecrated bishop on May 28 of the same year by patriarch Peter IV Geraigiry. He was one of the first Melkite bishops to visit the Americas when, in 1904, he came to Brazil. He succeeded Demetrius I Qadi as patriarch of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church on December 8, 1925. He also served as the spiritual protector of international ecumenical Military and Hospitaller Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem.

On March 27, 1883 he was ordained a priest. On April 23, 1899, the appointment as Bishop of Zahle and Furzol was. This appointment was confirmed on 20 May 1899 so that Moghabghab was consecrated on 28 May 1899 by Peter IV Géraigiry, the Patriarch of Antioch, bishop. The appointment as Patriarch of Antioch took place on 8 December 1925 this was confirmed on 21 June 1926, the bishops' meeting. For a long tradition of Patriarch is the spiritual protector and promoter of the Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem. He was commander of the Legion of Honor and was considered a very Francophile.

Patriarch Cyril died on September 8, 1947, and was succeeded by Maximos IV Sayegh.
