David Haes was born 1790 and died 1848.

He married Sarah Samuel, daughter of Lyon Samuel and Kate Solomon.

A member f the London Stock Exchange, he was decorated by the King of Portugal for services rendered to the Portugese Government.

He was one of the pioneers of modern English reformatories "at the cost of his life... a sad story... how he died of erysipelas at age fourty eight, leaving an only son".
