About David Lyon, Burgess of Glasgow
DAVID LYON
Burgess of Glasgow
David Lyon, here treated is the son of Donald Lyon. Glasgow Protocols II: 617 His mother is Jonet Ottirburn. Glasgow Protocols V: 1423 A record of his birth has not been found but it is supposed that he had already passed the age of twenty-one years when he and his wife Jonet Campbell are noticed on 22 December 1530, and if this is the case, as seems probable, then he must have been born before 22 December 1509. Glasgow Protocols IV: 1072
Death
A date and place of death has not been identified for David Lyon, here treated. He may still have been alive on 22 March 1574-75, when his property in Glasgow is mentioned, Glasgow Protocols VII: 2146 but he died before 5 November 1575, when George Lyon is noticed as the son of the deceased David Lyon. Glasgow Protocols VII: 2227
Marriage
Donald Lyon, here treated, married Jonet Campbell. She is noticed as his wife on 16 February 1547-8. Glasgow Protocols II: 614
