SMAIL-AGA CENGIC

PORTRET

Smail-aga Cengic was an ayan, mutteel and general Turkish army.

He was born in 1788 (1780) in the village of Jelasica, 35 km away from Kalinovik. As a young man, he highlighted the wrestling and the battles of 1809-1810. year, against Serbian ustanika.

As a young general, at the invitation of the sultan, he threw up rebellions in Serbia and Egypt. For these merits, he was proclaimed imperial golden bindizz and named kapidzibasom.

When Smail-aga arrived in Gacko in 1814, he settled in Cernica, then in Kula Fazlagica and finally in Lipnik near Havtovec. In Lipnik, he built Cifluk with a great tower, a small mosque and several residential buildings.

Cengici had towers and cardakers in Mala Gracanica, Srdjevci, Lukavice, Fojnica, Cernici.

From Ivan Mazuranic, he is described as the main personality in the epic "Smail-age Cengica Death" very biased and hypocritical (see attached to Mazuranka op.a.). This Mazuranic Sing was released in Iskra in 1846, where Smail-aga was not shown what he really was. Therefore, Kraus in Germany says: "Smail-agu Mazuranic was wrong and unjustly described: they are sympathetic to the sluggish and fierce hero Smail-agu Cengica, and not with the shudders and desolation of the Montenegrin Cengic was a real true Slaven, and his killers were a poor cowboy dagger . " (Croatian Circle and Cited Work, p. 105 and 106) .

That in the case of the Smail-age Cengic murder, it was really an insidious cowardly role of murder actors, and especially News Cerovica, also confirming a song that reads:

"You took Cerovica for hours! What is your lord's betrayal? He released that summer and year. You did not mean anything by your hand And the cedo did not cry on the tower ... "

(Osman Nuri Hadzic, Smail-age Cengica Smuggling, Sarajevo, p.16).

In 1836, in the Battle of Grahov against the Montenegrins, he exhibited a great deal of heroism with his Gacans. In that color, nine Perovits were killed. This could not have been forgiven to Petrovici.

Smail-aga Cengic was murdered in 1840 in Mleticcac on the scam from the ambush. With more than 70 of his Gacan, among which the famous people of the region were known: Besso Tanovic, Ferhat Krvavac - biker.

Petar Petrovic Njegos and Novica Cerovic highlighted the scandal and betrayal.

He was buried in his turbine in Lipnik.

He was labeled Celebija Hasanbegovic and left behind seven sons behind him.

Death of Smail-age Cengica in the poem of a Montenegrin poet - singer Croatian historian Ferdo Sisic on the actors of crimes In his own way, the historian described, in the shortest form, treacherous and cowardly murders, which also had the hallmark of fraud. Obviously, it is strange that the wounded man, as the song claims, cuts off his head. Only Serbian-Montenegrin knights can do this, to address the Montenegrin model with numerous titles and titles (pop, bishop, ruler, poet) Petar Petrovic Njegos.

A voluminous song of the folk singer about the death of Smail-age

Due to the sad folk song, some parts will be cited, in order to receive answers to several questions: about the character and characteristics of Smail-age; about the magnitude of thieves and scammers as national heroes and knights (who were farmers and servants of Smail-age and other gatac ages and begs); about His death order on the Smail-age liquidation, because of the revenge of the executed brother and nine Petrovits in the received Cengic battle on Grahovo; o Njegos's acceptance of the vow from the News of Cerovica (Servant Smail-age) that he will personally kill Smail-ag and receive awards and gifts; about leaving the Smail-age in Drobnjak based on the received letter from Cerovica; about the role of Ssija Karadzic and Mirko Aleksic (in other words Cengic's servants) in the Smail-age murder, and the donation of bishops to murder actors.

About the above, the singer speaks, and some segments will be cited.

About Njegos' assembly of the choir, where it is spoken in verses:

The choir rallies Petrovic Rade, to the Cetinje field near billiards. Montenegrin gatherings of the Duke, to talk to each other. About the mystery and the megan, so the bishop speaks to them. My brothers and my family are dear, Smail-aga fell asleep. What happened to Grahovska, and killed the Montenegrin army. And he visited nine Petrovitsa, slender saber Smaila Cengica. But is there a good cow, to kill the Serbian Dusmanin. My mole brothers to revenge, then he would not want to die.

Cerovic gave promises to the bishop, although he was aware of the heroic age, he said:

You see the Duke known, who will receive such ventures. To kill the belt from Lipnik, while Cerovic is aware of this risk. The word gave the Montenegrin world, Petrova's bishop to cheat. My sacrifices and my weapons, I will kill agu gatackog. Kazu has the strength of Hercules, and Allah sees from heaven. What is like Djerdjelez Ali, and that he was in the bowels of the snake. I'm going to rape him, He snaps his saber behind the door. I will illuminate Petrovic Djok, rusom head of age gatackoga. If ever comes to the Crumbs, I'll take his head out of my head. I'm going to give you a head off the bloody, I swear to you the bishop of Petrovic.

Cerovica's departure to Drobnjak to collect the army and pass the desire:

Have you happily followed Cerovica, when you leave Cengic on the meadow. Thanks to Novice Duke, and News in the Crumbs went. They tell them how things look, and greetings from the bishop. If Petrovic was the bishop, to kill Agu from Lipnik. They worked for their prize, when he takes his head to billiards. Let's write a letter to Cengiz, and in the Drobnjak to call him.

Contents of dispatched letter:

What you do not come to Drobnjake zendjili, The chives were picked up by the harac. It's just a matter of knowing it is, not to come Dedo k'oi before. That the people should not be strewn, I've received the harac collected. Go quickly and do not wait, you still have a lot of tribute. Which were you saved by the Drobnjaci, all slander and lazy dismiss. What does one of the Drobnjak say to you, that the people of Drobnjacka do not want to.

Preparing Smail-age for going to the Crumbs:

He picked up three hundred buljubas, and got on his tail. Even the mood of the sword, what is always carried on the meydan. The first aga feast before the Turks, through the Piva to the Crusaders. Karadzic is Sujo with Cengica, al 'Novice does not have Cerovica. He is preparing himself and he says, that the Mljeticak field bleeds. But, your child is Cerovic Novica, bring this to me the guilty.

In a tattered tent, the Turks rejoice and drink:

Filip Zugic raises his toast, on the Mletac polje under Glavica. You have good masters come to us, For three years the land has passed. Well, we've all liked you before, so we did not bring the harac. And, Cerovic says, and she's cheating on me and working on her head.

Fraud of Cengic's Servants (Novice Cerovica, Ssuja Karadzica and Mirko Aleksic):

For Sujo all by agreement, while Cerovic News at dawn. With the army ban and agu attack, a scary plotun on a satire plan. Jump around to catch, but his plotun did not give up. And, Mirko Aleksic, wounded Smail Cengic. What grace does the emperor have, The flashes of the flame of the handshake rose. Grab his head from the voice of a vice, Whether the harac charge us bleeding.

Bringing Head to Cetinje and Relation of Prize and Vocation:

Mirko carries his head on the handgun, to Cetinje for the master. The bajrak is Montenegrin, because the knights are mountainous. Then Njegos gave the princes, and cast the new ones.

Smail-aga Cengic is a historical personality of Gacko About the smail-age character Cengica is written quite a lot. The important features and characteristics of the gates are the pleasing family of Cengici, due to which this place was visited by historians, researchers, travel writers, writers, bishops and other travelers. In the period since the abolition of the Captain's Key in the first half of the 19th century (1835), the situation did not change in the gates, although it was the period of introduction of the sultanovic (Turkish) reforms. Social and military structures were retained, even though the name changed (instead of the captain, the name was called muteselim).

Muteselim is a happy captain, but he did not have the captain of the local unit.

The former captain was appointed to the function of the mutesels, in order to save them from casting and to die, due to the name of the captain. However, such practice was not in Gacko, because Smail-aga Cengic was an ayanski (mainstream), with a lifetime duty.

When he died in 1840, Gatacki ajan became his son Dervis-dog (Dedag) Cengic until 1862.

Dedaga Cengic was born in 1823 in the town of Fazlagica, and he lived in Lipnik in his father's Smail-age, but he was all obedient, and he was also a Christian. Dedaga was a Colonel (Miralay) of border units in Gacko.

Relation Smail-age with the tricky connection of Herzegovinian villain Rizvanbegovic

Hercegovac Rizvanbegovic appointed to the militia of the sultan on the position of the vizier in Herzegovina 15.1. In 1833, he was in that position until 1851 (18 years old), which was "a blow to the back" to the Bosnian captains, and especially to the gentlemen (which also featured Smail-aga Cengic) in the fight against the Autonomy Movement Bosnia 1831-1832. and thus helped in the overcoming of the Movement.

Thus, Rizvanbegovic helped the sultan in the fight against the Egyptian rebel Mehmed Ali, as well as against the Movement, and for this service he was rewarded with a vibrant position and thus ruled Herzegovina for more than 18 years as Galib Ali-pasa Rizvanbegovic (Galib is the winner).

In spite of the negative role of Vizlenbegovitsa Smail-agi, again, with his wisdom and cunning, he was again engaged as a celebrated and proven hero for the famous and decisive battle on Grahovo in August 1836. (Smail-aga was then 48 years old).

This fight was won by Smail-aga Cengic. Many Montenegrins were killed in the battle, including the bishop's brother (Petrovic Njegos) and nine other Petrovits. With Smail-agu several Tanovits appeared.

(Hrvatsko kolo, XII - Regular edition of Matica Hrvatske, Zagreb p.88)

Revenge of Bishop Petrovich for Grahovo and murder of Smail-age Cengica Vladika Petrovic Njegos prepared the revenge of Smail-agi Cengic for the defeat of Montenegrins, numerous victims, and especially the death of the brother and other nine Petrovic in the battle of Grahovo. On the scam, from the busy office in Dawn 7, in October 1840 (Smail-agi was then 52 years old), Smail-aga Cengic was killed with 70 other Herzegovinians, among whom Gacan was the highest, at Mljeticak in Piva. There was the "best" friend Smail-age - Besho Tanovic, and the other Tanovici: Mujagic Zagradcanin, Murat-aga from Medjulec and Avdiy were fled.

Evaluation and vision of the death of Smail-age Cengica

Ratings and news of the Smail-age death, they were seriously affecting the entire Bosniak people, as well as the folk song:

When the Cengic massacre in Mljeticak crashed, all the Turkish soil cracked, crawled into a black curtain. Better Bens Cengic Smail-aga, But Thirty In Bosnia Cities ...

Numerous records testify to the image of Smail-age Cengic and his court Vuk Karadzic on Smail-agi Cengic Smail-aga Cengic was born in 1780 (1788), and Vuk Karadzic in 1787, and became well-known as the contemporaries. Neither their places of birth are far removed, nor are they two. Vukov's record on agi reads:

"Cengica is the most important tribe in Bosnia, because there were many beasts and dogs in it, and it was said that he was one of the first heroes in the Turkish empire.

With the arrival of the Smail-age with 400 horsemen in Drobnjak to buy a harac, he clashed with 400 shots of armed guns, and he was killed by bullets when he was riding on a horse with a sword against Drobnjak, but on a scam. The scam was cowardly, but his head was cut off and taken away. "

Knjaz Nikola at the Smail-age Cengica court

The Montenegrin army, led by Prince Nikola, came to the Cengic Gate. The war reporter, Arso Pejovic, describes this event as follows:

"Knjaz wanted to visit this prominent place, and he was welcomed by the Duke Anto Djokovic, a hostess at the gate. The music played a military anthem, while the Prince yelled" I was home to Dedag Cengic "and entered the high tower .. . "

It turned out that the high stone walls about four meters high around the tower, and the number of rooms in them, surprised Prince Nikola. He was caught for around the room of a circular shape about which Prince Nikola was also writing, because it served for important conversations. In her cross-legged sidewalks, and the style of crossed legs has remained to this day.

The war reporter of the Herzegovinian uprising in 1875 Arsa Pejovic described the arrival of Prince Nikola in 1876 in the tower of Dedage and says:

"In the upper rooms, they lived the age of Cengici, who were mildly under 10 million, and therefore they were not afraid of the sultans in Stambol. In two sets, like on a street, were arranged large knitted slices with a slave sold by the Turks - ducandians. the towers of Mushnica, where Cengic's mills and fish ponds are located, will be drawn. "

(Gavro Vuković, Montenegro War with Turkey in 1876, Cetinje in 1929, p.6).

Frenchman Ami Bue

This scientist also stayed in Lipnik in 1839 with the Smail-age Cengica gutchel muteil, and his residence is a half hour away from Gacko. He was Chief Gacko. Beg was a typical Hercegovac full of joy and life.

Smail-agu was well-supplied by his faithful guardians, where the image of the guarded guard is presented when reporting the report to some important visitor. The children, beside Cengic's court and towers, were armed and ready to defend the court in the Bosnian garment. And this detail was recorded, in his plants, by this prominent French scholar.

And to the German readers known Smail-aga Cengic

And to German readers, through the translation of the work "Death of the Smail-age Cengica" they met with the figure of age. And folk poetry is hostile towards Cengic, even though it was the hero of those times. Therefore, certain dr. FS Kraus is an opinion. That Smail-aga, and Mazuranica, is unjustly and wrongly characterized, although he is a fierce hero and is not on the side of night robberies of Montenegro.

The same writer Cengica considers the true Slaven, and his killers Montenegrins consider him cowardly, because they were killed by deceit.

Historicar Hamdija Kresevljakovic

Thus, historian Hamdi Kresevljakovic states that the tower was carved with stone carvings and four buildings with special purposes were built around it: musafirhana (for guests), haremluk (for women), houses for guards - soldiers (cops) and house prison (dungeon) .

The most common targets were the Cengic towers and towers of others in Gacko, Kljuc and Cernici

There are also more towers in Lipnik, which, as a whole and content, make real castles, this most famous and richest family, had numerous towers in other places and sites: the towers of Hasan-pasha in Samoro (the Hajduks were destroyed in 1752) and built the other on the Mushnica River, and the towers in Mala Gracanica, Srdjevica, Lukavica, Fojnica, Cernici, and several times new ones were built in Lipnik, on the site of the destroyed and burned.

All the listed Cengic Towers, a chain of towers from other owners from Bileca, Gacko, Nevesinje (on Planoj, Mekoj Grudi, Koritima, Vukotica tower and Tanovica and Tanovica in Fojnica, towers in Zala and Becir-age Ljubovica in Odzak near Nevesinje) at the same time, will be destroyed in the organization of the Montenegrin army towards Mostar.

All of these abductions are aimed at achieving the goal, which is to suppress the traces of the Bosnian culture and historical values of eastern Herzegovina.

Smail-aga Cengic also lived in Cernica and Kljuc

Usually the name Smail-age Cengica links to Lipnik, where he mostly resided and built a yard. He also stayed in Cernica and had his tower.

Although born at the end of the 18th century (1788) in Jelasica, about 35 km from Kalinovik, some writers linked his origin and roots, as a rare Bosnian family, to the Eastern-Turkish origin from Mesopotamia. This is possible because family trees can be removed from the place of birth and residence.

Smail-aga Cengic was a decade at the head of the Captain's Key

The captain's chair could only be obtained by the Sultan's orders in Istanbul, and this order (berat) was regulated by a state act. Otherwise, it is known that the captain's chair is very demanding, because only a prominent warrior, hero and servant for the Ottoman Empire can sit on it.

The gossipers in Gacko were constantly proving themselves

Although the impressions of Cengic's castles are astounding for each visitor, as well as for Prince Nikola, their army was burned down by them. Obviously, the inferior hate and genes and historically were expressed in Gacko.

Unfortunately, the tower was burnt in 1876, with all the buildings and mosque, except turbets, because they were kivi in agu. Smail-aga erected a mosque for the needs of the faithful.

After the Smail-age death in 1840 in Drobnjaci, a Mausoleum-Turbe was erected to this famous Turkish hero in Lipnik.

It is sad that neither of his famous castle has left a stone on stone. Otherwise, in these gates, there was still hatred for the Turks, because it was ordained by the destruction of hostile cultural monuments and all other non-their buildings. It is sad that such phenomena happened even before the entrance to the 21st century, more precisely in 1992, precisely in the gates, when all the Bosniak villages were robbed, destroyed, burned down, and their families murdered and expelled. They now live as refugees in cities and collective accommodation in BiH, but also in countries around the world.

Smail-aga Cengic had all the necessary conditions and replaced the last Captain Tanovic from 1805 to 1814 at the head of the Kljucka Captain's office, which was his honorary duty.
