Dorothy Bray was born circa 1530.[1] She was the daughter of Edmund Bray, 1st Lord Braye and Jane Halliwell.[3]

She married, firstly, Edmund Brydges, 2nd Baron Chandos of Sudeley, son of John Brydges, 1st Baron Chandos of Sudeley and Elizabeth Grey, circa 1548.[3]

She married, secondly, William Knollys, 1st Earl of Banbury, son of Sir Francis Knollys and Katherine Carey, before 1573.[3]

She died on 31 October 1605 at Minty.3 She was buried at Rotherfield Greys, Oxfordshire, England.[3]

From circa 1548, her married name became Brydges.[3] As a result of her marriage, Dorothy Bray was styled as Baroness Chandos of Sudeley on 12 April 1557.

From before 1573, her married name became Knollys.[3] As a result of her marriage, Dorothy Bray was styled as Baroness Knollys of Greys on 13 May 1603.
