About Dorothy Gundersen (Cullucis)
Dorothy, born 1918-1919, was the daughter of Nora Gunderson, from a brief marriage to a man whose last name was Callucis,(or something similar).
In the1920 census, Nora & Dorothy were living with Nora's mother, Avilda & her step father, Alfred Cull, on Huntington St. in Brooklyn. They are both listed with the last name 'Callucis'. Nora, 21 yrs. old, is listed as married, working as a waitress. The census information was taken on April 15, 1920, and Dorothy was 1year, 7 months.
By the 1930 census, Avilda is living at 119 Van Dyke St., Brooklyn, N.Y. with the name Avilda Gundersen, not Cull. Dorothy is now named Dorothy Gundersen, age 11, and listed as Avilda's "daughter", not granddaughter. There is no mention of Nora. Avilda's sons, Harry, John & Victor are also living in the home. This is the last mention of either Avilda or Dorothy in any records found.
I have been told by Anna Timmons, (Avilda's granddaughter through her daughter, Anna), That Nora is buried in St. John's Cemetery in Queens.
