The Evening Star, January 27, 1857 ... Death of Mrs. Wirt ... "Intelligence reached this city yesterday of the death of the estimable and venerable widow of the late WilliamWirt. She died at Annapolis, Md., on Saturday last. Her remains will be brought to this city today to beinterred by the side of those of her illustrious husband, in the Congressional burying ground."
Death of Mrs. Wirt. "In Annapolis at the residence of her son-in-law, Alex Randall, on Saturday evening last (Jan. 24, 1857), Mrs. Elizabeth W. Wirt, widow of the late Hon. William Wirt in the 73d year of her age. Her remains were brought here this morning in the train from Baltimore to arrive at 11 o'clock at which time the friends of the family are requested to attend the funeral from the depot to the Congressional Burying Ground"
