About Erminnie Josephine Baldwin
Mrs Erminnie Josephine "Minnie" Baldwin Lee .... Birth: 1868 Pottawatomie County Kansas, USA Death: 1944 Tescott Ottawa County Kansas, USA
Minneapolis Messenger, June 22, 1944, page 2: Erminnie Josephine Lee Erminnie Josephine Baldwin, daughter of Henry and Eleanor S. Baldwin, was born December 17, 1868, at St. Mary's, Kansas and departed this life June 13, 1944, at her home three miles north of Tescott, Kansas, at the age of 75 years, 5 months, and 26 days. At the time of her birth her pioneer parents were in route from Vermont to the middle western states, finally homesteading 5 miles north of what is now Ada, Kansas. She was one of a family of nine children, seven girls and two boys, of which three sisters, Mrs. Mattie Brewster, Mrs. Harriet Saunders, Mrs. Bertha Rehling, and one brother, Gilbert, preceded her in death. At an early age she was saved and united in the Methodist faith of which she was a devoted member until the time of her departure. In 1895 she was united in marriage to Frederick Buck, of Ada, Kansas. To this union were born two sons, Floyd and Ernest. In 1898 she mourned the death of her husband. In 1903 she was united in marriage to Dr. William Lee, also of Ada. To this union were born two sons, Philip and Charles, the former passing away in 1909. The family resided at Ada, Kans., until the spring of 1913 when they moved to a farm three miles north of Tescott, where she lived until the time of her death. Left to mourn her departure are three sons, Floyd Buck of Tescott; Captain Ernest Buck in the U.S. Seabees, stationed at Guadalcanal; Pvt. Charles Lee, Hq. Co. of Camp Beale, California; also three sisters, Mrs. Elfie Hallock, Mrs. Mable Wheeler and Miss Florence Baldwin of Ada, and one brother, Arthur Baldwin of Miltonvale, Kans. Besides there are eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Her husband, William Lee, preceded her in death in 1939. Mrs. Lee was known and loved by all as one who had a steadfast faith in the salvation of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and was a loving mother, wife, sister, and grandmother, and a friend faithful to all. In spite of her failing health covering the past several years, she still remained in a loyal trust of her Heavenly father, Who knoweth and seeth all things, and in that trust and love she passed into the land of fadeless day and never-ending joy and happiness. Funeral services were conducted from the Tescott Methodist church Friday afternoon, June 16 at two o'clock. Rev. G.V. Parks was in charge. Interment was made in the Ada cemetery. ________________________________________ obit furnished by Cheryl White February 2011
