Hester Sophia de Bruyn was my 4th great grandmother. Her first husband was Franciscus Ulman born 15 September 1789 in Europe. He died on 12 April 1869 on the farm Klipplaatfontein, District Aliwal North. His death notice lists his parents as F Ulman and Catharina SCHAUDER.

Franciscus and Hester had one daughter, Catharina Francina born 2 August 1835, District Aliwal North died 28 September 1898, Farm Rietpoort, District Aliwal North. She was murdered on the farm. She was married to Johannes Jurie Steyn 1828 -1901.
