Ida's obituary:

Ida Margolis, businesswoman WEST BLOOMFIELD -- Funeral services for Ida Margolis, a homemaker and former Hamtramck businesswoman, were to be held at 1 p.m. today in the Ira Kaufman Chapel, 18325 W. Nine Mile, Southfield.

"Mother was an angel on Earth and I know she is an angel in heaven," said her eldest daughter, Alicia Tisdale.

Mrs. Margolis died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, of kidney failure in Huron Valley Sinai Hospital, Commerce Township. She was 85.

A West Bloomfield resident, Mrs. Margolis was for 50 years comptroller of the family business, the now-defunct Margolis Furniture in Hamtramck.

She was active in Temple Israel and numerous Jewish organizations, including B'nai B'rith.

"She was very bright, kind, accepting, very empathetic, intuitive," Tisdale said. "She was a rock of strength for all of us."

Survivors include two other daughters, Elaine Lippitt and Charlene Margolis 13 grandchildren nine great-grandchildren and two brothers.

Burial was to be in Clover Hill Park Cemetery, Birmingham.
