James Roger Rawlins

Mr. James Roger “Jim” Rawlins, age 90, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022.
He was born on August 11, 1931, in Madison County, Kentucky, the son of the late Sydney and Louise White Rawlins. Mr. Rawlins was a decorated combat veteran of the Korean War having served in a U.S. Army Reconnaissance Unit. He was also a retired car salesman who loved to play golf and fish. He was a man of faith and a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Mr. Rawlins was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Gracie Renfro Rawlins, who was the love of his life. He was also preceded in death by his baby daughter, Jamie Lee Rawlins, his brother Eddie Rawlins and two sisters: Evelyn Jones and Lena Singer.
Survivors include two daughters: Vickie Hinton (Bill) and Debra LaFoun Rawlins-Fellows (Gary); his special niece, Debbie Faye Rawlins, whom he helped raise as a daughter; two grandsons: William D. Hinton and James Darren Hinton (Leeann); five great-grandchildren: Savannah, Isabella, Cooper, Talon and Kya Hinton; his brothers: Sidney Rawlins and Tom Rawlins and two sisters: Thelma Rawlins and Nancy Stamper.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:30 PM Wednesday, July 20 2022 at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, 328 West Main Street, Richmond, with Pastor Steven R. Price officiating. Burial will follow with Full Military Honors in Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:30-1:30 PM Wednesday prior to the funeral service.
