Jane Shea

Jane was born "Jane O'Leary" in Middlebury VT. She had her son, evidently an only child, c. 1878 in Massachusetts (William J. Shea) She was known variously as Jane or Jennie Shay in San Francisco in the 1880s As a second marriage Jane married a widower from Ohio by the name of Joseph A. Morrison in 1904. The couple lived out their final years together in Santa Maria Cal. Her maiden sister, a school teacher, Elizabeth "Lizzie" O'Leary came to live with her circa 1920 and settled nearby

Jane's son was the executor of her estate in Santa Barbara County (1936). She is buried in Santa Maria

In the late 1880s Jane lied under oath about her background in the divorce case involving her older sister Margaret who had been involved with a number of men. (witness the following)

Scattered offspring

Jane's obituary names a daughter names Mrs. Blanch Cambell (sic) Blanche Campbell (MNU)?. However, her 1910 census says she only had one child... Did Jane have an additional second child between 1910 and 1918 when her second husband Joseph Morrison died? This seems unlikely...she was 58 in 1910.
