Mrs Jemima Fenwich, 29 July 1914, An Obituary from the Maitland Mercury.
Location: Maitland.

An Obituary under Local and General News in the Maitland Mercury, dated July 29, 1914 reads -Mrs Jemima Fenwich, a very old and esteemed resident, and widow of the Late Mr W B Fenwich, died at Tarro on Friday last, aged 93 years. Deceased, who was a native of Whittlesee (sic), England, came to New South Wales in the year 1832. Her late husband, who predeceased her eleven years, was a well known grazier of this district. Her remains were laid at rest in the Tarro Cemetery on Saturday afternoon, and the large attendance testified to the respect in which the deceased was held by the residents of the locality. The Reverend J. Thomas, of Morpeth held a short service at the house, and also conducted service at the graveside. Three grandsons and one great grandson acted as pallbearers and many beautiful wreaths were sent by members of the family and personal friends. Mrs Fenwich is survived by a family of four sons (Frederick, Robert, William and Henry) and two daughters, Mrs George Akhurst of Tarro and Mrs W Bowden of Scone, 52 grandchildren and 115 great grandchildren. Deceased, who retained her faculties to the last, was of a retiring disposition, and enjoyed exceptionally good health, and although of such a great age, could do the finest needlework without the aid of spectacles.
