John BOYKIN was born ABT 1712 in Isle of Wight Co., Virginia. He was the son of *William W. BOYKIN and *Ann BURWELL.

John Boykin, brother of above William, married Cherry Joyner, who is mentioned in the will of Katrine Joyner Dunkley in 1758 as her sister (Southampton Wills I, Chapman).
John made his will in Halifax, N.C., Jan. 10, 1762, probated March Court 1762; legatees sons Benjamin, Joseph, Chaney Boykin; James M. Lane, Wm. Pope, James and Eli Harris.

James Harris and Cherry Boykin (after the death of James Harris Sr., his widow m. John Boykin), both of Halifax Co., to Benjamin Arrington. 160 acs. on the east side of Assomosock Swamp (conveyed to James Harris, decd., by the Nottoway indians on 7 Aug. 1735.
