JOHN HAMILTON OF WHISTLEBERRY
John Hamilton of Whistleberry is the third son of Sir James Hamilton of Cadzow. On 14 June 1449 he had a charter to "John Hamilton of Whistleberry, brother of James, Lord Hamilton, of the lands of Whitehope and Kirkhope, in the Lordship of Crawfurd-Lindsay, in exchange for the lands of Wester Brithy, in the barony of Ferne in Forfarshire." Death
John Hamilton of Whistleberry died before 23 October 1455, the date upon which his son William is named as one of the heirs remainder of James, Lord Hamilton. Memoirs, p. 257
