John Sexton. He was born in Loudon Co. VA. in 1758. He was believed to have been married 3 times. He had at least 2 sons from his 1st marriage named Bartlett b. 1775 NJ. and Daniel b. 1779. 2nd marriage was to Rebecca McDonald. Their children were Asher b. 1795 NJ., William b.1796 VA., Moses b. 1805 VA., Solomon b. 1808 KY., Andrew b. 1810 VA., and Isaah b. 1810 VA. 3rd marriage info not known to me at this time. John did serve in the Rev. war in SC Militia and received a pension in Lawrence Co. KY. in 1834. John died in Lawrence Co. KY. in 1836, his place of burial unknown to me. I would like to find his parents names and siblings names if anyone has this info. I have family info on Andrew to present because he was my GG Grandfather, and will share with anyone interested or needing this info.

John Sexton born May 14, 1758 Loudoun County, Virginia. While a resident of Fairfield County, South Carolina he enlisted October 4, 1779 in Capt. James Steel's Company, SC. He was discharged July 12, 1780. Volunteered again July 21, 1780 for 3 months as private in Capt. Kenton's Co., SC. Enlisted March 11, 1781 as a private in Robert Green's Co., SC Regiment. Was in battle near Camden between Gen. Greene and the Brits. Was in the seige of 96 and battle of Eutaw Springs; 2 weeks after which he was discharged. Enlisted again May 13, 1782 and served 9 months in Capt. Frost's Company, SC regt. and was involved in a skirmish with the Tories.

After the war he moved to Virginia and in 1814 moved to Floyd County, Kentucky. In 1830 he moved to Lawrence County, Kentucky where he received pension March 13, 1834. Died September 4, 1835 in Lawrence County, Kentucky.

Married May 26, 1822 in Pike County, Kentucky to Susan Collins of that county. She received pension March 23, 1853 while living in Carter County, Kentucky and was 72 years of age. Later in December 1853 says she was 74 years old.
