Obituary published in the Ludowici News, July 9, 1948. Mrs. Moran Died Early Last Monday. Mrs. Katherine Viola Moran, 59, died early Monday at her residence near Ludowici. Mrs. Moran, a faithful member of Elim Baptist Church, had been a teacher in the church Sunday school for thirty-five years and president of the missionary society for the past fifteen years. Funeral services were conducted at the Elim Church at 3 p.m. Tuesday by the Rev. M. A. Murray, assisted by the Rev. Joe H. Miller of the First Baptist Church of Ludowici. Burial was in charge of the Harrison Funeral Home of Jesup. Mrs. Moran is survived by her husband, E. A. Moran; her mother, Mrs. Alice Way of Ludowici; two daughters, Mrs. Marion D. Chambless and Miss Margaret Moran of Ludowici; a son, Ernest A. Moran, Jr., of Atlanta; four sisters, Mrs. W. E. Floyd and Mrs. E. A. Shaw of Ludowici, Mrs. Maude Patton of Savannah, and Mrs. C. T. Gaskins, Lambert; two brothers, B. G. Way, Ludowici, and Jack Way of Lambert, and four grandchildren. Active pallbearers were Avanda Floyd, Louie Zorn, Thomas Way, Myers Gaskins, J. B. Way, and W. E. Floyd, Jr., all are nephews. Honorary were Marcus Smith, R. L. Dawson, Dr. L. M. Hawkins, George McGowan, Carl C. Wilkinson, and H. C. Hodges. Mrs. Moran was the daughter of the late B. Way and of Mrs. Alice Way.
