Louisa Stockley

Louisa's surname is uncertain. On my Grandfather's birth certificate, (Edgar Whitworth), his brothers' birth certificates and on her marriage certificate, it is written as STOCKLEY. However, there is no trace of a family with this name in census records which matches existing data. On her son's death record (Willie/William Whitworth - died USA 1956) her name is given as STOCKING. There are census records that match with this name and the area of Cockley Cley near Swaffham and the ages/occupations match too. Her brother John Stocking, according to census records, moves from Cockley Cley up to Midgley near Halifax. This seems to tie in. As far as I can tell, she is an orphan by the age of about 8. This might account for the uncertainty about surnames.
