MRS. LULU KITCHEN (1875-1954)

Waverly - Mrs. Lulu Kitchen, 78, Waverly Route 3, died at 5:35 p.m. Sunday in Chillicothe Hospital where she had been a patient one day

A native Carter County, Ky., she was born Nov. 1, 1875, a daughter of James and Martha Vires Kelley. Her husband, George Kitchen, died in 1929.

Survivors include thee sons, William of Waverly Route 3 with whom she lived the last 3 1/2 years, George of Dayton, and Frank of Huntington, W.Va.; five daughters, Mrs. Mary Sparks of Columbus, Mrs. Pearl Carr of Chillicothe, Mrs Martha Lyon of Sciotoville, Mrs. Sara Griffith of Huntington, W.Va., and Mrs. Jessie Hurley of Port Huron, Mich.; 35 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Emma White of Charleston, W.Va.

Mrs. Kitchen was a member of the Staunton Street Apostolic Gospel Church, Huntington, W.Va., where service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Ridge Lawn Cemetery under direction of the A.H. Boyer Funeral Home of Waverly. Friends may call at the home of her son, Frank, at 2425 First Ave., Huntington, after 6 p.m. Monday.
