About Manuel Mitra Luz
Manuel came from a wealthy chinese mestizo family in Lipa. He was described to be of towering height (six footer), aristocratic in his ways, strict yet considerate. He was engaged to marry his niece, Segunda Katigbak, thus ending the romantic attraction of Jose Rizal to Segunda. Rizal described Manuel to be "un hombre alto."
Manuel secretly supported the Katipunan movement in Batangas by providing them with material resources. The Katipunan movement was introduced to the Batanguenos by Rizal's brother, Paciano.
He passed away during the second world war.
