  2. Sir William de Venables, knight to whom his father gave all his lands in Bradwall between 1284-1287, married, 1st of Katherine of Thorton, daughter of Sir Urian de St. Pierre and widow of Randle de Thornton, married second, Agnes de Legh, daughter and heiress of Richard de Legh, of West-Hall.

5. Sir William de Venables, knight and baron of Kinderton son of Roger, mentioned 1267 and died 1292.

+ 1st wife unknown. They had a daughter Cecily who married Adam the clerk of Allehulme near Brereton.

+ 2nd wife Margaret, dau of Sir Thomas Dutton, Lord of the manor of Dutton, 38 Hen III and a widow in 21 Edw I [1292/3]. This couple had in addition to their heir Sir Hugh, a son Sir William de Venables, to whom his father gave all his lands in Bradwall between 1284 and 1287. He married first Agnes de Legh dau and sole heiress of Richard de Legh of West Hall, High Legh, who was the widow of Richard de Lymme. Her son from her second marriage, John Venables, changed his name to Legh, settled at Booths and gave rise to several branches of the Legh/Leigh family. Sir William married secondly Katherine, widow of Sir Randle Thornton and had two sons, William and Hugh.
