About Mary Austin
This is NOT Mary Crenshaw McBee who was married to a John Champness Austin - he was a descendant of Thomas Austin, a different Austin line.
{She is not the Mary Crenshaw, dau of Joseph Crenshaw, who d. 1758. She was married to a man surnamed Cook.)

Mary Austin was born circa January 8, 1727, in Hanover County, Virginia, United States. Her parents were John Crenshaw, I and Sarah Crenshaw.
Mary married Sgt. Maj. John Austin, Sr circa 1750 in Virginia, USA. Together they had the following children:
- Susan Anthony;
- Capt. John 'Jack' Austin, Jr;
- Abner Hundley Austin;
- Sarah Bell;
- Mary Kidd;
- Elizabeth Allen;
- William Austin.
She died before May 9, 1820.
Note
Direct Anthony Ancestor- made a note -have traced DNA matches of their mother and yDNA uncle to both Crenshaw and Dabney - these are matches that do not also include Austin or Carr, ancestors. The only living Dabney in Virginia, who married a Crenshaw, who could be the age to be the mother of Mary is Sarah Dabney, granddaughter of Cornelius, who married John Crenshaw, the brother of Joseph, acc. to J. Grantham.
