Mary (Staples) Harvey (1646 - 1698)
Mary Staples, the daughter of Thomas, despite many statements to the contrary, was not the wife of John Beach, who was about 25 years her senior. She was the wife of Josiah Harvey. Dates December 16, 1627-1677, are from the mistaken identity of Mary Staples wife of John Beach, who is long disproved.
Origins
Mary Staples left a will dated 12 Sept 1696, left bequests to sons Thomas & John; Daus. Mary wife of Josiah Harvey and Hannah wife of John Beach; friend Mary Slawson; grandchildren Hannah Harvey & Mehitabel Fanton; and to Nathan Gold a book. She probably died in Fairfield where she lived.
