"Metzger" Hauri

Metzger Hauri ["Butcher" Hauri] was a burgher of Freiburg-im-Breisgau. In 1299 the city rebelled against its lord Egino I von Freiburg. The lord asked for the help of his brother-in-law Konrad von Lichtenberg, Bishop of Strasburg. Metzger Hauri stabbed the bishop outside the city gates. The bishop returned to Strasburg, where he died.
