About Mont Belcher
GEDCOM Note
Clarence Dermont Belcher (MONT), 90, died May 15, 1999, quietly in his sleep at his home in Murray, Utah. Born May 20, 1908 in Spring Lake, Utah to Clarence Leroy and Laura Rozell Holladay Belcher. He graduated from East High in 1927 and attended the University of Utah. On June 6, 1932, he married the love of his life, Blanche Hill Musser in the Salt Lake Temple. They had eight loving and caring children, 40 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Mont was an active member of the LDS Church. He supervised maintenance of the Stake Farm, served on the High Council for 10 years and was bishop of the Millcreek 2nd Ward from 1966-1970. He supervised the building of the Millcreek Stake Center, which was completed in 1966. He retired from the Carbo Chemical Company at age 65, after which he and his wife served an LDS mission in Western Australia from 1975-1977. He then worked as the maintenance manager at the Deseret Industries for another 10 years, and retired from there at age 80. He spent the last few years being cared for in his home by Blanche and the family of Steve and Andrea Belcher. His body waned but his testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was unwavering. Gratefully his sense of humor was fully intact and he spent much of his time entertaining family and friends. This Good and Faithful servant is survived by his loving wife, Blanche Hill Musser; Richard A. (Gayle Maxwell) Belcher; Annette (Clyde) Harris; Marianne (Ray) Spencer; Normandie (David) Hays; Steven M. (Andrea Wallace) Belcher; Portia Styers Belcher, wife of son Dennis Belcher, who preceded him in death; Kim (Sandra Lane) Belcher; Lorrie Belcher and Stephen Brett Maeger; brother, Everett "H" Belcher; 24 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held, Friday, May 21, 1999, 12 noon at the Millcreek Stake Center, 4220 South 420 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. Viewing to be held at the Millcreek Stake Center, on his 91st birthday, May 20, 1999 from 6-8 p.m. and day of service, 10:45-11:45 a.m. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens. Cannon Mortuary Funeral Directors. [The Salt Lake Tribune. Published: 05/19/1999. Page: C6]
