Excerpted from "The Jews of Ireland" by Louis Hyman, Irish University Press, Shannon, Ireland, 1972. p. 55 "
Moses Hyams , of Vilna, who arrived in Dublin about 1750; the family legend that Moses was a soldier in the Polish army and fled to Ireland after banishment for his revolutionary activity in defence of Polish freedom is a romantic fiction. Moses married Judith Isaacks (Isaacs), of Germany. After some years in Dublin, in all likelihood being one of the defectors of 1753, he left for London and died there in August 1796
...Of his five children, four sons, Solomon (1753-1837), Samuel (1766-1843, Isaac, and David, settled in South Carolina. The oldest, Solomon, born in Dublin, worked as a printer in London and in 1787 arrived in Charleston."
