Birth

Phebe Merriman, daughter of Moses Merriman and Martha (Beach) Merriman, was born 27 Mar 1720 in Wallingford, Connecticut.[1][2]Connecticut Vital Records to 1850 "Wallingford" (Online Database: AmericanAncestors.org, New England Historic Genealogical Society, 2011.) She married twice. First to Moses Munson 18 July 1739, in Wallingford [1][2] and second to Josiah Bartholomew 9 Apr 1752 in North Branford.[1][3]

Phebe was admitted to the Northford Congregational Church 7 June 1752. She came from the church at Wallingford.[3]

Phebe's gravestone at the Old Middle Street Cemetery, Goshen, reads: In memory of Mrs Phebe Bartholomew confort to Mr Jofiah Bartholomew who died Septr 25th 1799 in the 80th year of her age.[4]

Moses Munson and Phebe Merriman had six children all born in Wallingford.[1]

John Munson was born 2 August 1740 Thomas Ensign Munson was born 5 April 1742 Margaret Munson was born 14 April 1744 Caleb Munson was born 22 May 1746 Hannah Munson was born 17 May 1748 Moses Munson was born 13 August 1750 and died in 1751 Josiah Barholomew and Phebe Merriman had born in Branford, and bpt. in nearby Northford.
