"About 1747 he come from Henrico County to that portion of Amelia, which in 1754 became Prince Edward County, Virginia; settled near where Hampden Sidney College now stands, and at the time of his death owned a magnificent estate. He was married twice. By the first marriage there were seven, and by the second marriage nine, children. There is a tradition in the family that Pugh Price was the happy father of twenty-five children."

Pugh[Pew] Price born about 1700, was deeded 120 acres on Four Mile Creek by his father, 1 Sep 1710, reserving a life interest which Hugh and Jane Ligon relinquished, 7 Oct 1717. He lived in Henrico, Amelia and Prince Edward Counties and left will 20 Nov 1774-17 Apr 1775. He married 1)__2)____and 3) Jerusha Penick [or Penix].

Pugh's will was written 20 Nov 1774 and proven 17 Apr 1775 in Prince Edward Co., VA (Will Book 1, p. 173). Children names in his will are: Sarah, William, Pugh, Michal, Phoebe, Tabitha, Elizabeth, Charles, Fanny, Judith, Patty, John, Daniel, Josiah, James, and an as yet unborn child. Jerusha's will was recorded in Powhatan County in 1808.
