About Pvt. Abner B. Hinton
Abner Hinton served in the Confederate Army during the American Civil War in 3rd Company "E" 19th Regiment, Louisiana Infantry. He enlisted on December 11, 1861 at Camp Moore, Louisiana for three years. He spent to summer of 1862 absent from his regiment on detached duty with teams at Chattanooga, TN. On January 20, 1864 at Dalton, Georgia, after his original three years of service had expired, Abner Hinton reenlisted for the duration of the war. He was killed in action on July 28, 1864 at the Battle of Ezra Church in Fulton County, Georgia.
