John Gaston, born in Ballymena, Ireland, 1703; died in Voluntown, Conn., 29th Mar. 1783; immigrated with his brother Alexander to America between 1725 and 1730. He landed at Marblehead, Mass., and from there went to Voluntown, Conn., where he was admitted freeman in 1736. Married in 1735 to Janet Thompson, born in Scotland, 1711, died in Killingly Conn., 3rd Nov. 1806, daughter of Rev. Alexander and Mary Thompson, both born in Scotland and both died in Stongington, Conn., Alexander’s will being admitted to probate 13th Apr. 1772.
