Robert Wallace Pollard, 84, died peacefully on February 5, 2006, at Durham Regional Hospital after a year of declining health. He was born in Durham and was the son of the late Charlie Alexander Pollard and Isla Sykes Pollard.

During WWII, Mr. Pollard served in the U.S. Air Force. He was retired from the American Tobacco Company. Mr. Pollard was a member of the Angier Avenue Baptist Church and the Cabin Class.

In 2004, he was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Mary Tally Pollard.

Surviving are his daughter, Susan Craft and her husband, Jim, of Durham; one sister, Alease Wilson Stetson, of Durham; two brothers, Charles Pollard and wife, Jackie, of Durham and Knox Pollard, of Cary, and several nieces and nephews.
