Obituary - Mrs. William Harmon dies At Rexburg, Idaho: Mrs. Rosetta Campbell Harmon, died at Rexburg, Idaho May 21, 1936, at 10:00 p.m. Her husband, seven sons, two daughters and other relatives were with her during her brief illness and when she died. Her body was taken to the undertakers parlor and lay there in state until the time of the funeral. Death resulted from high blood pressure and heart weakness.
Rosetta Harmon could well be classed among the pioneers of Bear Lake and Star Valley. She was born in Montpelier, Idaho, December 4, 1867, and at that time a very few families were living there. She moved with her parents Grant and Caroline Campbell and family to Star Valley in October 1884, there being but three other families in the upper valley at that time. She married William Ammon Harmon, August 15, 1886. Plans for a golden wedding celebration were made, had she lived another three months until August 15, 1936.
Twelve children were born to this union. One daughter and two sons having preceded their mother to the great beyond. Seven daughters and two sons are living. They are all married and comfortably located. There are also 41 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, making an immediate posterity of sixty-eight members. Truly hers was a wonderful life well spent.
The funeral services were held in the Lewisville chapel, Monday May 25 at 2:00 p.m. Hundreds of relatives and friends were present. Beautiful musical numbers were rendered. By special request, Mrs. Annie Hood of Fairview, sang "I Know That My Redeemer Lives". Each of the speakers paid glowing tribute to the departed.
Chester F. Campbell offered the invocation and the closing prayer was made by Alvin Allred. The floral offerings were beautiful and profuse. The body was laid to rest in the family burying plot, Lewisville, Idaho.
