Daniel, February 15, 1773, at Milford, resident of Amh. August 1796, a cooper.
Daniel apparently moved from Milford (residence of his father) to Amherst in 1796, perhaps after his first wife died in childbirth (1795).
Elisabeth Heath wid. m. Jacob Hayward 1776 [so Samuel must have died before then]

there are several Elisabeth Thayers born in Mendon:

• 1752 to Seth and Judeth (20) an Elizabeth Heath died in Southbridge 3/22/1844 age 92 widowed from a family tree on familysearch.com, this one married Jacob Hayward
