Biographical Summary
"Sir George Sinclair, Baronet [1786], of Thurso, co. Caithness, 1st s. and h., by 2d wife, b. 23 Aug. 1790; ed. at Harrow and the Univ. of Gottingen, being arrested, with his tutor, at Paris, in Oct. 1806, though not long detained captive ; was M.P. for Caithnesshire (six Paris.), 1811-12, 1818-20, and 1831-41, having suc. to the Baronetcy, 21 Dec. 1835. He m. 1 May 1816, Catherine Camilla, sister of Lionel William John (Taimash, afterwards Tollemache), Earl of Dysart [S.], 2d da. of Sir William Talmash, formerly Manners, 1st Baronet [1793], styled Lord Huntingtower, by Catherine Rebecca, da. of Francis Grey. She, who was b. 5 Nov. 1792, and who was raised to the rank of the da. of an Earl by Royal warrant 6 Nov. 1840, d. 17 March 1863. He d. 9 Oct. 1868 in George street, Edinburgh, aged 78."
