c. 1312: Charter by James, Steward of Scotland, to John de Yrskyn [Erskine], son of John, son and heir of Sir John de Yrskyn, Kt, for his homage and service, of all land which the granter holds in tenement of the (le) Larges, saving to granter 2 merks of land which Walter, son of Richard, held, and also right of patronage of the Larges, and saving to William, son of Sir John de Yrskyn, 2 merks of land in said tenement which said Sir John resigned to granter by staff and baton, and in which he infefted said William; under provision that grantee shall perform forinsec service from said land, namely as much as pertains to 1/10 part of service of one Kt; with permission to grantee and his heirs to have 6 brewhouses in said land; and with clause of warrandice.
