Theodocia Matilda is listed as "Thedocia" on the 1880 census of Upshur County, but as Matilda on most of the other census records. I think the nickname "Dotis" comes from "Theodocia." As for her age, the tombstone inscription on the original marker has no dates of birth or death but gives her age at death as 67, at least according to the RootsWeb site:

That would make her date of death 1887 instead of 1897. When the new marker was erected (the one pictured here) someone gave 1820 as her date of birth and 1897 as her date of death. I don't know if this resolves the issue but it does show there is some doubt about when she died.
