Thomas Leister was born in 1587 in England and died in Virginia.

He landed in Jamestown, Virginia in 1620-he came by the ship "Abigail" from London, England. He was 33 when he arrived.

He was still in Jamestown in 1624.

Thomas Leister is listed in "The Muster as one of Docto' Pott's Men in the Maine". Records show Thomas Leister arriving in Virginia in 1620 on the "Abigaile", also listed as arriving in 1623, 1624. Did he make the journey back to England and returned again with his wife and family or was this a different Thomas?

Thomas Leister arrived in Virginia in 1620 and Edward Leister arrived in Plymouth, Mass in 1620 from "Passenger and Immigration Lists Index First Edition Volume 2 H-N" Edited by P. William Filby"

Thomas Leister was listed as one of the 1033 persons living in Virginia in 1624, one of 224 in James City County, VA.

Since he arrived in 1620, he is probably one of the first 1000 persons to survive after arriving in the New World. (I am trying to calculate the numbers by getting as many

passenger lists as I can)

The Mayflower brought 102 people the same year Thomas arrived, only 58 survived the first 4 months.

1800 acres of land in New Kent County was granted on February 18, 1673 to 19 persons, including Thomas Leister, (this land transaction is probably the original Thomas's

Grandson) Jane Qually, Thomas Youall, Edward Tompson, Robert Lake, Anthony, Mary, Robert Cooper, Jno. Pinnell, Fran, Havercup, Richard Powell, William Lant. George Perkins, Nicholos Polentine, Edward Blunt, Edward Hall, William Jacson, Mary Martyn, Joyce Davis, Jonathan Francis Roundtree II received a grant of 400 acres in Nansemond County, Virginia in 1698.

He is one of the men that on March 28, 1702 petitioned the President of the Council for

protection against the Chowan Indians.

This is probably the same person as Thomas Leister, living in James City County in 1623, arrived in the ship Abagaile in 1620
