Are you sure and do you have documentation that Etienne Brule is the Father Antione? I beleive he could be a cousin or uncle but not a father.

Michael Bruley
Hi Michael, here is a link of my information. I have searched many websites, and found again this one for you this morning. When I showed the results of my genealogy search to my uncle, he approved to be a great...great grand son of Etienne Brule, telling the story of Etienne's copulation with an American Native as their kids were born in France.
http://trees.ancestry.ca/tree/7777115/person/24045262436
actualy he did not copulate....he married native woman as evry frenchman did//spiritual conection as human
the nature of the union became a cultural hybrid that mixed both Indian and french customs
jean-francois neveux tres francais comme nom
etes vous du quebec?
can you copy paste those information here ..i cant see them on treeancestry
D'abord, je suis franco-ontarien et Neveu ne s'écrit pas avec un 'x' ni un 'p' comme on peut retrouver dans quelques autres orgines du nom.
De plus, je recherche la plus constante et véridique information. The history has been told from generation to generation.
On the provided site and on one another I found after sending the first one, it is written : Antoine Brule, Naissance 1625 dans Amiens, Somme, Picardie, France, Paroisse St-Germain Décès 26 Nov 1701 à Quebec, Canada
Son of Étienne Brule (1592-1633) et Martine St-François. Husband of Madeleine Aubry (1625-1699).
The franco-ontarian show (Echo d'un peuple) tells the story of the first immigrants in New France and Etienne Brule, navigator and discoverer of the great lakes to pennsilvania, slept with a native woman (with whom he had kids).
Now, if my sources are wrong, please provide me with the good information at jfn_ca@yahoo.ca. Thank you.

Merci.
All of my genealogy sources are : www.geni.com ; www.ancestry.ca ; www.ancestry.com ; www.genealogie.com ; www.nosorigines.qc.ca ; www.mesaieux.com ; plus all of the information given through generations. I will look forward for more information on Etienne and Antoine Brûlé.
None of those family trees are "reliable" sources unless there is documented proof. I know that if you type in "Etienne Brule" + Wife into google.com you get a Question and Answer website saying that Martine St. Francas [sic] was his wife. This site is NOT reliable: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Did_Etienne_Brule_have_a_wife (says he was married)
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Who_was_etienne_brule_married_to (says he was not married) Same site, different answers, no documenation.
However, while researching legitimate historic websites, there is no known information about him other than he being a great navigator, self-proclaimed first French man on Pennsylvanian territory, a person who hung around the Native-Americans, etc.
This is a great site telling the story of Etienne Brule: http://www.civilization.ca/virtual-museum-of-new-france/the-explore... (not one mention of a wife or children).
This is wikipedia, with no information about a wife and children, and they cite their sources from books and other reliable websites:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%89tienne_Br%C3%BBl%C3%A9
Another reliable website mentions:
Étienne Brûlé has unfortunately left no personal description of his life among the Indians, or of his discoveries.
Source: http://www.biographi.ca/en/bio/brule_etienne_1E.html
The original poster sounds RIGHT, he may be an uncle, cousin, distant relative, but I doubt he's the parent of Antoine Brûlé. There's no known information. And I doubt his wife was Martine St.-François.
Secondly, Antoine Brule was born in France circa 1625. Etienne Brule, born in France also, was supposedly already in New France by 1608, meaning he was a young boy when he arrived in New France. Why would he travel back to France to make a baby with this mysterious Martine St.-François who has "NO HISTORY" when you do a search of her name, except from a totally unreliable Question and Answer website? I could write a better story than that!
Is it safe to remove their connection, yet? I would really like to.
we have to keep in mind that french also ameriendian was writing a diferent way as today and english came later.
also diferent story from a diferent point of view if writing in french or english. book and records in french is rare in canada
when i read some old french i know its a certain way to be read it is like a codex
another thing majority of french history in nouvelle france now quebec is fabricated thats maybe another discussion
we have to read book ..and be fair when reading it was write in english and the french are the bad one
