The following is listed as John Ferguson's parents.
---
Father: John Ferguson, b. 15 Sep 1530, Scotland , d. 29 Jun 1592, Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland
Mother: Janet Turnbul, b. 1630, Gargunnock, Stirlingshire, Scotland , d. 27 Mar 1692, Kinglassie, Fife, Scotland
---
Issue 1. Janet must like old men a lot because she married a man a century older than her.
Issue 2. John Sr.'s father was 120 years old when he was born.
---
John Sr.'s mother is 20 years older than her son, old enough to be his mother, so that seems okay, but I think John, b. 1530 is a great grandfather and Alexander is the father of John Jr. However, I have nothing to verify this yet.

Last night I made a DNA report discovery and was able to answer this question above.

The reason for the tagging is so that the managers of these profiles would get notified

Awesome! Thank you.

BTW, I misspelled gerontophilia. I doubled an o where there's supposed to be only one.

I have a question...has it been verified that Peleg is a son of John Jr. and the father of William born 1764 in Amelia County? I come from William's son Andrew Jackson Ferguson's (born 1820, KY) line...

2/21/2016 at 6:29 PM

1. Peleg, son of John Jr.
________________________________________
1.a. My initial information came from a PDF document I found online titled “Descendants of John , Sr. FERGUSON”; however, there are many things in that document that I have had to correct in my records. That document states that it gets its information as follows: According to From Chester Co. Gen. Bulletin- "In Beverley Fleet's VIRGINIA COLONIAL ABSTRACTS, Vol II, Baltimore, MD, 1988 p. 421 is the following deposition '4 July 1753 John Farguson aged 68 years'."

1.b. John Ferguson Sr. in that document is not "Sr." but John S. Ferguson. His parents were John Ferguson, b. 15 Sep 1630 in Gargunnock, Stirlingshire, Scotland (son of Alexander) and Janet Turnbul, b. 1630 also.

________________________________________
2. William Ferguson, b. 1764
________________________________________
2.a. According to my records, which seems to be different than the PDF document, the BMD records can verify that William is the son of Peleg, but I have not verified that information "yet." Here is the information I have to date on him.
---
3.1.X4.4.1.3.5. Peleg Ferguson and 4.3. Faith Anderson
• 3.1.X4.4.1.3.5.6. William Ferguson, son
B. 11 May 1764 in Pedlars Creek, Amelia, Virginia, United States
March 10, 1791: M. to Juda Wood in Greene County, Tennessee
-B. 1775 in Burke, North Carolina
-D. 27 Feb 1862 in Mossy Creek, Habersham, GA
D. 9 December 1834 in Mossy Creek, Habersham, Georgia, United States
Burial: Mossy Creek United Methodist Cemetery, Cleveland, White County, Georgia, USA
--
Based on this information, he is the sixth child of Peleg and Faith. William's older sister is my fifth great grandmother Lucy and Peleg's fifth child as far as my research to date goes, but there's a possibility still, through the verification process, that she might not be so after all. This depends on if I can verify that she is the mother of Fontaine Tankersley's first five children, which I can't yet. I can verify that through Peleg's will that Betty is their daughter, but the previous five children are not verified yet. As for William, I believe that information has been verified through someone doing a DNA testing.
________________________________________
3. Andrew Jackson Ferguson
________________________________________
3.a. My records show 3.1.X4.4.1.3.5.6.15. Andrew Jackson Ferguson as the 15th child of 3.1.X4.4.1.3.5.6. William Ferguson and Juda Wood. They have been busy, haven't they? For him, my records have:

• 3.1.X4.4.1.3.5.6.15. Andrew Jackson Ferguson
B. 14 Jan 1820 in Cumberland, Kentucky, United States
14 DEC 1837: M. to Jane Higgens in Habersham,Georgia
D. 15 Jul 1897 in Habersham Co., Georgia
Burial: Mossy Creek, Church Cemetery, White, GA
________________________________________
I have not verified all 15 of the children of William yet.
________________________________________
I'm not sure if this tells you much, but it does show that we are indeed related... if I can verify that Lucy is indeed my fifth great grandmother.

Thank you so much!!! I had been stuck as there were many Williams and other lines were possibilities...I had been hoping this was the line but the name Peleg had not carried and knowing how names do that made me wonder.

Cuzzin Ñoño

Again you state

1.b. John Ferguson Sr. in that document is not "Sr." but John S. Ferguson. His parents were John Ferguson, b. 15 Sep 1630 in Gargunnock, Stirlingshire, Scotland (son of Alexander) and Janet Turnbul, b. 1630 also.

I want to remind you that we did merge John Ferguson b. 1630 m to Janet Turnbull into John Ferguson b. 1649 m to Ann Stubbleson causing John Ferguson b.1649 to be shown as being married to both Janet Turnbull and Ann Stubbleson now

This is how it looks now
https://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000012894219719

This merge can be undone and we can show John Ferguson b. 1630 m Janet Turnbull b. 1630 as parents of John Ferguson b. 1649 m Ann Stubbleson..

Please let me know

I have asked Private User for some input too I just noticed in the revisions of John Ferguson b.1649 done by Tammy today
'John S Ferguson, Sr.'s profile was updated by Tammy Swingle (Tucker). nicknames and occupation
2 hours ago · view'

That under occupation it shows 'Last reiging King of Scotland- killed by Charles I'

2/22/2016 at 12:24 PM

Interesting! I would be interested in learning more about this occupation of being killed by Charles I. Can you connect me with the right persons?

John S. Ferguson is not a "Sr." He would be a Jr.; his son would be a III. John S. Ferguson is the son of another John, so Sr. would not apply.

2/22/2016 at 12:33 PM

It turns out that Tammy did not add that part about being killed by Charles I, she just did a a data conflict and the revisions attributed it to her.

Nolan I have asked you this question on three separate occasions
Do I undo the merge of John Ferguson b.1630 and add him back as being married to Janet Turnbull b.1630 and show him and Janet as parents to John Ferguson b. 1649 m to AnnStubleson?

Does this agree with your information?

7/26/2018 at 9:04 PM

There’s a DNA conflict on this profile if anyone wants to try and help figure out the break / bad merge

DNA Markers: R1b1a2a1a1b4 E1b1b1a2 details
