Hi Roslyn.
My connection to the Pinkerton's is through Jean. Jean was the daughter of Arthur and Mary Reid (Nee Lulham). Mary Lulham, the daughter of William and Mary Lulham. William is the brother of my Great grandfather John Lulham and Mary (Nee Foley) is the sister of Johanna Lulham (Nee Foley) is my Great grandmother.
My sister is presently in the final stages of producing a book on Honora McCue, who is the first of the Lulham clan to come to Australia. Her infant daughter Mary came with her and she married James Lulham and it all expanded from there. If you would like a copy of the book let me know ASAP and it will be put on order.
If you want any further information, feel free to ask.
Cheers, Greg.
As previously mentioned, I am the daughter of Lenore Clare Grainger married John Langford Turner. Lenore is the daughter of Renold Grainger and Margaret Lulham. I was sent to live with Jean & Harold Pinkerton at the age of 15 months & lived with them till I was 8 years old when John & Lenore relocated to Darwin in 1959. After that I still had holidays with Jean & Harold for many years. I spent time with Lyla's family & Leo's family. Jean & Harold were very close to me & I was upset when I was not advised about their deaths until it was too late for me to attend the funerals.

Jean & Harold were running a dairy farm when I went to live with them. They only moved to Lismore when I became school age. I can't remember which area the dairy farm was in, but remember watching Harold milk cows. He used to put me on the horse with him and ride down to the farm gate to collect the mail. They had friends in the area that they visited even after they moved to Lismore
Hi Roslyn.
Thanks for all that info, I now know where and how you fit into the family tree. It is wonderful to have contact with another family member from a branch other than my own. You mention that you lived in Darwin in the late 50"s. I was up there in 1965 & 66 and met my wife up there. Not sure where Harold & Jean had there farm but have a fellow Lulham descendant who would know, as she was in regular contact with them. You mention that you spent time with Lyla's and Leo's families. What are their surnames and are they related?
As I previously mentioned, a book is being produced on the early family and are you interested in purchasing a copy?
A Lulham/Logan Family Reunion has been arranged for the 23 September,2017 at the McKees Hill Hall. McKees Hill is halfway between Casino and Lismore and it is a BYO event.
It would be great if you could make contact with all family and descendants that you know and let them know about the book and also the reunion. Book cut off is 30th June.
Looking forward to your response.
Cheers for now.
Greg.
Hi Greg
Lyla was Harold's sister she married Robert Ford. They lived in Evans Head in the road behind the hotel. Leo was Harold's brother. Thank you for the invitation to the reunion but I live in Perth and won't be able to attend. Most of the older generation that I met as a child are now deceased unfortunately. Elsie & Mick Corbett, Leonore Lulham, all my mothers brothers and her sister Colleen Harris and my mother Lenore Turner (Nee Grainger) passed on Friday 26th May 2017. I have just attended her funeral in Brisbane.
