Upon a runestone by Års Church in Himmerland, Jutland, Val-Toke is mentioned. Toke Gormsen is named Val-Toke in some sources, but it is very disputed if Val-Toke is the same person as Toke Gormsen.

I am actually convinced that the Two Val-Toke and Toke Gormsen needs to be split in two different persons and neither of them being linkt as son of Gorm the old.

Several scenarios set similarities between this Swedish Toke and the saga's Palnatoke, which can be understood as Palna Toke. "Palna" is interpreted by some as "the Polish". Perhaps Gorm the old had a spare son of a Slavic relationship? Palna means shooting in Polish ie "Skyde-Toke" - so maybe there is something true in the story story?

It is also unknown for the dansih kingdom of this time Gorm was actually king of the todays area of Denmark or if it in fact was just Jutland. Many things suggest it was just Jutland. In Palnatokes saga. Kingo r chieftain of Bornholm is mentionen and. Only Palnatoke is from Fyn and not related to Gorm the Old according to several other sagas. Here Palnatoke is of a line of CHieftain who is powerfull enough to oppose Harald Bluetooth. He is also the foster father of Haralds Illigimate child Svend. The later Svend Forkbeard.
NOthing really to connect Val-Toke and Toke Gormsen.

Secondly sources only mention 3 children of Gorm the old. Knud Danaest , Harald Bluetooth and Gunhild. On the official side it is stated that only 3 children exist of Gorm the old. and I agree on this perseption. reason for this is that illigimate children usually would be mentioned in the sagas as child of the royal Danish house. Gesta Danorum was written to promote a specific line in the royal house. That of Gorm, Harald, and Svend.

According to Gesta danorum Palnatoke is the one that kills Harald Bluetooth, due to a Wilhelm Tell like story.
